Gentle, individualised acupuncture and Tui Na for people living with MS, Parkinson’s, stroke, FND and other long-term neurological conditions.
Neurological conditions touch every part of daily life, from movement and balance to energy, sleep and mood. No two people experience them in the same way.
Through my work at the Chilterns Neuro Centre, I’ve had the privilege of supporting many people living with these conditions. I’m continually moved by the resilience, creativity and determination they bring.
No group I’ve worked with knows their bodies so well. The people I see bring creative problem-solving, real strength of character and a commitment to working in holistic ways.
Working with neurological conditions has deepened my appreciation of a core principle of Chinese medicine: treating the individual rather than a diagnosis.
One person wants to talk about food, another about movement, another about breathing. Through our conversations and treatments, an approach that suits you gradually unfolds.
Acupuncture and Tui Na sit alongside the work you’re already doing, through rehabilitation, exercise, self-care and medical treatment.
People come to me with MS, Parkinson’s, stroke, FND, peripheral neuropathy and other long-term neurological symptoms. Common reasons people seek support:
Fatigue is the one I hear about most. It creeps into every part of life, and everything takes so much more effort.
It’s the small difficulties that build up over time which cause frustration, tearfulness, depression, exhaustion and overwhelm.
Others come for help with anxiety, sleeplessness, bladder issues, or simply the effort of living day to day. Many are also managing other long-term conditions, such as autoimmune illness or chronic pain, so treatment always takes the wider picture into account.
In a session, I listen to your body and gently unwind the knots that have built up over time. I’ll also share simple Chinese medicine ideas you can carry into daily life.
Alongside my TCM training, I use Channel Theory, reading the body’s channels to guide treatment. It fits closely with my Tui Na work. If your neck hurts, I might press points in your feet, legs, hands and arms to see what eases it.
I also use abdominal massage, and notice the temperature, colour and tone of your skin and how you move.
The body has a story, and it’s communicating. I listen.
“Nothing in the world is as soft and yielding as water. Yet for dissolving the hard and inflexible, nothing can surpass it.”
I use gentle needling, usually three to eight needles a session, alongside Tui Na or Gua sha. Everything is slow and purposeful, to nourish your body and build strength.
By the time people come to me, they’ve often lived with their condition for years, sometimes decades. Patterns that took a long time to settle can take time to shift.
Progress isn’t always a straight line, but it does come. Every six sessions we look back at what we’ve worked on and how you feel now, so you can shape what comes next.
If you’re living with a neurological condition and curious whether acupuncture and Tui Na could support you, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

Research into acupuncture for neurological conditions is ongoing, including studies on stroke recovery, neuropathy, Parkinson’s and MS. The evidence varies between conditions, and acupuncture is usually used alongside conventional medical care.
